ALI Fellow Linda Mateza Appointed CEO and Principal Officer of the Eskom Pension and Provident Fund

ALI Fellow Linda Mateza (Class IX: Tariro) has been appointed as the new chief executive and principal officer of the Eskom Pension and Provident Fund (EPPF). The appointment comes as no surprise considering her wealth of experience and knowledge in managing pensions and investments across asset classes, including equities, bonds, property and money market investments.

Linda holds a Master’s degree in finance and investments, and she has vast experience in actuarial processes, strategy development and implementation, governance, risk management and leadership. She has worked as the Head of Investments and Actuarial Services at the Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF), before which she worked as the Chief Investment Officer of the Eskom Pension and Provident Fund from 2010 to 2013.

This year, Linda will be returning to Eskom. She will take up her new role on the 1st of September. “The board of trustees has great faith and confidence in Mateza’s capability to lead the Fund into the next era and on its journey to becoming the country’s most admired pension fund,” says EPPF board chairperson, Ms Mantuka Maisela.

Congratulations, Linda. ALI wishes you all the best for your new role.

Thanks to our valued partners and to all the Fellows who continue to contribute in many ways.
