Following a due process of interviews and assessments internally and externally, Nedbank Group is pleased to announce that Dr Terence G Sibiya has been appointed as Managing Executive: Rest of Africa & Subsidiaries.
He will be responsible for leading and managing the Rest of Africa and subsidiary businesses and to ensure that they grow and achieve the key strategic objectives of building scale, increase their share of contribution to the Group’s earnings, and to generate returns in excess of the cost of equity.
Terence graduated from the University of Pittsburgh (USA) with a Masters and Doctorate in Instructional Systems Design and Information Technology. In addition, he also holds a BSc degree in Information Systems from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania (USA).
He was recently the Managing Executive for Client Coverage in Nedbank’s Corporate and Investment Banking. Prior to joining the Group, he held a very senior roles at Nedbank Capital as Head of Origination and prior to tat senior roles at Standard Bank Limited as Director and Head of Power, Infrastructure, Construction, Oil and Gas. Other roles also included Head of Global Markets Sales, and Foreign Exchange Sales, as well as Director of Strategic Equity Investments including BEE Finance.
Terence is an ALI Fellow (Tariro Class) under the African Leadership Institute, sits on various boards, as well as being an active member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
