TEACH South Africa has been developing educators and tools to improve maths, science and English education in South Africa.
The organization recruits university graduates in these subjects, and places them in rural and disadvantaged schools for two years, where they train to become educators.
Since the year 2009, TEACH South Africa has placed graduates in 186 schools across the country.
TEACH South Africa co-founder Richard Masemola says that the organization focuses on maths, science, English and IT is because these subjects are the gateway in South Africa’s public education.
Masemola spoke to #NightTalk’s Lovelyn Nwadeyi about the work TEACH South Africa does to develop quality educators, and to improve the state of education in South African communities.
