Tshego Neeuwfan is an energy professional with a passion for the improvement of livelihoods through the development and management of functional public infrastructure.
He is currently a Utility Innovation Manager for the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP). GEAPP works to tackle energy poverty and the climate crisis by scaling green energy solutions in developing and emerging economies. Tshego leads the organisation’s energy projects portfolio in South Africa which involves collaborations with a complex stakeholder set that includes utilities, the private sector, civil society, international cooperating partners, government departments, task teams, agencies and companies. One of the flagship programmes Tshego is leading in South Africa aims to rehabilitate, modernise and decarbonise municipal electricity grids for improved local economic activity and livelihoods.
Prior to joining GEAPP in 2024, he was the Deputy Chief of Party-Technical (technical lead) and a member of the leadership team for the USAID Southern Africa Energy Program, USAID’s flagship regional energy programme executed by Deloitte Consulting Overseas Projects.
Tshego serves on industry advisory boards and supports the work of several electricity crisis and infrastructure development task teams. He also has a diversity of interests outside of work which include support for the arts.
