A woman paving her own path through many avenues from gracing global stages to investing in the advancement of local communities -this Kwamashu native holds on to the power of collective action to drive real change.
She is the founder of the Nomzamo Lighthouse Foundation, an organisation that provides scholarships for college students and supports youth in supplying basic school needs. The foundation also raises funds for an annual R1million grant for black women-founded entities that operate in underserved communities. In 2019, Nomzamo was appointed by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees as global Goodwill Ambassador. In 2020, Nomzamo was named CottonOn Foundation global Ambassador, lobbying to raise funds that have been utilised to build schools in Kwamashu, Durban as well as support marginalised youth through robust leadership programmes. She is also a Global Citizen Ambassador fighting to end extreme poverty and to build a more just world by holding global leaders accountable to true action and change.
She has made the coveted Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2018 and in the same year was named Philanthropist of The Year by E! Entertainment Africa.
