Ann Leepile is the CEO of M&G Investments Southern Africa and serves on its Board of Directors. She is tasked with overseeing the management of over R330bn ($18bn USD) of Retail and Institutional savings assets. Prior to joining M&G, Ann was CEO of AlexForbes Investments which is South Africa’s largest Multi-Manager and largest Investment Consulting business. Prior to that, she was MD of ABSA Asset management which is one of South Africa’s largest fund managers with over R100bn in Asset under management. Ann has held previous roles as Deputy CIO of Alexander Forbes Investments, Portfolio Manager at Rand Merchant Bank and Equity Research analyst at JP Morgan Chase.
Externally, Ann also sits an Independent Investment Committee member to Afrishela which is part of the Graca Michel foundation. Afrishela’s aim is to address the problem of limited access to finance that hinders the growth of African women-led businesses across the African region. In addition, Ann sits on the Kingsmead College Transformation and Diversity committee, which is the committee charged with the Transformation and Diversity matters of the college.
With over 20 years financial services experience, she counts financial literacy and inclusion as one of her passions. Ann is a seasoned public speaker both locally and globally having spoken on Transformation and Diversity in financial markets in South Africa and Asia.
Ann holds a BComm from Wits University, she is a CFA Charterholder and attended the Executive Women in Leadership program at Stanford University.
