Vuyo is co-founder of Nguni and Gnosis Investments, based in Cape Town. He strategises and leads investments in financial and property technology. Gnosis’ Umhlaba Commercial property fund expands real estate ownership among low-income South Africans. Most recently he launched tech start-up Yethu Africa, a logistics business that enables B2B last mile delivery services for retailers into the under-served African township and rural consumer market, by making use of existing commuter taxi networks.
In his capacity as an entrepreneur and independent advisor over the past 20 years, Vuyo is inspired to find solutions that will add value and quality to South African communities that are excluded from mainstream economic activities. His initiatives include education, housing, logistics, private schooling and community-owned retail.
Vuyo is part of the launch team of the US philanthropic fund, Canopy Collective, a coalition that supports black and indigenous teams advancing new approaches to racial justice, social equity and democracy.
Vuyo is on the board of the investment committee of Savant, a South African Fund that supports early stage technology start-ups.
