Ridwaan is currently the Chief Data and Analytics Officer at Absa Group limited. He
has 15+ years of work experience in Information Technology. He started as a developer and soon grew into various leadership roles. He has led IT operations and infrastructure – including large vendor partner teams – across three continents; delivered enterprise scale data center consolidation programmes; and restructured large IT departments to achieve effective value delivery.
Ridwaan has deep experience in digital transformation initiatives on the African continent. He built a commercially sustainable 600-person offshore IT delivery organisation, including three fully fitted delivery centres.
Ridwaan has grass roots experience in delivering CSI projects. He founded the Silver Screen Project (a child welfare focused organisation), and he was also the lead of a social entrepreneurship technology initiative in conjunction with global NGO’s and Provincial Government. Currently is head of a community based religious NPO in the Greenstone area. He also works with orphanages in the South of Johannesburg.
