Farzanah Karachi is an advocate of the High Court of South Africa and a member of the Pan African Bar Association of South Africa (“PABASA”).
She currently practices at PABASA, Sandton Chambers, and is a member of its Management Committee and the Chair of the Finance Committee. Previously (2021/22) Karachi was deputy secretary of the National Executive Council of PABASA.
She completed her pupillage with the Johannesburg Society of Advocates in 2009 and has developed a wide-ranging practice, including arbitrations. She holds a Bachelor of Law (WITS) where she graduated with distinction. She won the Brink Cohen Le Roux Prize in negotiable instruments and banking law and is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society.
Farzanah has served as an acting Judge of the High Court of South Africa on several occasions. She has a deep commitment to the promotion of gender equality and the ideal of a society founded upon human dignity, equality and the protection and advancement of human rights and freedoms.
