Farzanah Karachi

Advocate in the High Court of SA and on the National Executive Council of the Pan African Bar Association of South Africa (PABASA)

Farzanah Karachi is an advocate of the High Court of South Africa and a member of the Pan African Bar Association of South Africa (PABASA”). 

She currently practices at PABASA, Sandton Chambers, and is a member of its Management Committee and the Chair of the Finance Committee. Previously (2021/22) Karachi was deputy secretary of the National Executive Council of PABASA.  

She completed her pupillage with the Johannesburg Society of Advocates in 2009 and has developed a wide-ranging practice, including arbitrations. She holds a Bachelor of Law (WITS) where she graduated with distinction. She won the Brink Cohen Le Roux Prize in negotiable instruments and banking law and is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society.

Farzanah has served as an acting Judge of the High Court of South Africa on several occasions. She has a deep commitment to the promotion of gender equality and the ideal of a society founded upon human dignity, equality and the protection and advancement of human rights and freedoms.
