Jerrod studied at the University of KwaZulu Natal and is a qualified Chartered Accountant. He joined Rand Merchant Bank (“RMB”) in 2009 as a corporate credit analyst, before moving into the Investment Banking Division’s Syndication team in 2012, where he focused on leveraged debt. Seeking a new challenge, he moved into the Investment Banking Division’s Debt Financing Group in 2014, as a Loan Originator/Transactor.
He specialised in the provision of debt solutions for large South African corporates in M&A transactions, having worked on The Foschini’s Group’s acquisition of Phase 8, Spar Group Limited’s acquisition of Spar A Gand Life Healthcare’s acquisition of the Alliance Medical Group. He won the ABSIP 2018 Deal of the Year award for Life Healthcare’s acquisition of the Alliance Medical Group.
He is currently Head of Shared Value for RMB; Shared Value is a developing initiative that centres on the bank’s ambition to integrate financial profit with external social impact across core business activities.
He also serves as a Trustee of the First Rand Foundation and is also the Chairman of the RMB CSI Fund.
Jerrod is incredibly passionate about the possibility of South Africa. He enjoys dialogue, sport, reading and re-imagining a better tomorrow.
