Monique Mathys-Graaff has been spearheading the research and investment project development capability within the Public Investment Corporation. This division is focused on identifying investment opportunities that would both enhance PIC performance and act as a catalyst for inclusive economic growth. Multiple initiatives are underway to ensure impact-linked innovative financing structures are in place. More recently, she was appointed to the National Advisory Board for the South Africa Global Steering Group for Impact Investing, as part of UN SDG initiatives. She is also a board member of the Southern Africa chapter of the African Venture Philanthropy Alliance, having co-authored the 2019 Africa Impact Report. As an investment professional and a CFA charter holder, her experience set has grown out of work exposure in financial and capital markets through to corporate office investor relations and government policy. As an advocate of hope, she has been involved in uplifting women (Director of Leaves NPO), and she is a local preacher of the Methodist Church of Southern Africa and an author.
