George Harris is Headmaster of Hilton College, a privilege he relishes daily. He has had the added good fortune of leading and working in rural and urban schools throughout his career, including having the experience of a lifetime in setting up Lebone II – the flagship school for the Royal Bafokeng Nation.
George holds an Honours in African Literature from Wits University, and he attended Teachers’ College at the University of Columbia as a Fellow in their Klingenstein Center Programme for Heads of Independent Schools. Further education has come from the untold richness of living in Africa.
George believes in the immeasurable potential of young people. All our futures are entwined in the youth’s ability to harness their talents and develop new ways of being. He is a peddler of hope and of promise. George enjoys family time, reading widely, listening to good music and being in nature.
