Sharmla Chetty is the regional managing director for Duke Corporate Education, overseeing the Africa region, and serves on the board for Duke Corporate Education Africa. Prior to her appointment as regional managing director, Sharmla served as the managing director. She leads the client relationship management, advisory work, and the building of client organizations’ strategic capacity and capabilities. She has experience working in a range of industries including financial services, healthcare, and mining and in various regions, including Africa, China, and India. Prior to joining Duke CE, Sharmla was the head of Human Capital Development at Nedbank and has more than 19 years of experience in this field. Sharmla studied at Rand Afrikaans University and has an MBA from Henley Management Business School. Her dissertation achieved a distinction in the field of corporate social responsibility. Sharmla is a Fellow of the eighth class of the Africa Leadership Initiative-South Africa and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
