Mcebisi Ndletyana

Head, Political Economy Faculty, Mapungubwe Institute for Strategic Reflection (MISTRA)

Mcebisi NdletyanaMcebisi Ndletyana is the head of the Political-Economy faculty at the Mapungubwe Institute for Strategic Reflection (MISTRA). He has held research positions at various institutions including the Centre for Policy Studies, Steve Biko Foundation, and the Human Sciences Research Council. He taught at New York’s City University of New York, Marrymount Manhattan College, and the Nelson Mandela Metro University in Port Elizabeth. Mcebisi has edited special journal volumes and published a book, book chapters, and journal articles. His research and writing is on African intellectuals, African nationalism, identity, and electoral politics. Mcebisi also writes regularly for newspapers and provides political analysis on electronic media. Mcebisi holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of the Witwatersrand. He is a Fellow of the eighth class of the Africa Leadership Initiative-South Africa and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
