Andiswa Kawa is chairperson and founding member of Chuma Holdings, a women-led investment company with interests in platinum mining. She has experience working in strategy development in the industrial, mining, and financial services sectors. Andy is also chairperson of Interwaste Holdings and serves on the Boards of Anglovaal Industries (AVI), Aquarius Platinum South Africa (AQPSA), and Imara Capital South Africa (ICSA). She is a trustee of the Chuma Foundation and active in working to prevent gender-based violent crime in the Mandela Bay Municipality. In 2010 she was selected as one of the twenty businesswomen in South Africa to participate in the The CHOSEN MTN CEO Leadership Council. In 2007, Andy was runner up as ‘Top Executive Management Committee Member’ in the TOPCO awards, whilst serving as director of Business Transformation at Aquarius. Andy holds an MBA in Finance from Wharton School Business, an EdM from Columbia University, and BSc in Applied Math from the University of Transkei. She is a Fellow of the eighth class of the Africa Leadership Initiative-South Africa and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
