Ethel Mokwele is founder and managing director of Hope Nutrition Consultancy. Ethel is a nutritionist by profession and has over ten years’ experience in community nutrition and development. She is also CEO and founder of Nkanyiso, a nutrition and HIV/AIDS nonprofit organization that deals with care and support for orphans and vulnerable children. She serves as a board member of Nkanyiso and Women with Purpose. She has been nominated to serve on the Think Tank task force for reviewing the national HIV/AIDS strategy. She has extensive experience developing the school nutrition and food garden models for government and NGOs, including implementing sustainable community nutrition programs, conducting evaluation research studies and wellness programs, and addressing food security, nutrition, and HIV/AIDS. She also runs a life skills program with orphans and vulnerable children during school holidays. She holds a master’s degree in nutrition from the North West University, previously Potchefstroom University. She is pursuing her doctorate in nutrition at Vaal University of Technology. Ethel has also received training in countries such as Britain, Japan, the United States, and Indonesia. She is a Fellow of the sixth class of the Africa Leadership Initiative-South Africa and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. She has provided her services in different provinces in South Africa, Gauteng, Limpopo, Eastern Cape, Kwazulu-Natal, Mpumalanga and North-west Province. Ethel is a Fellow of the sixth class of the Africa Leadership Initiative-South Africa and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
