Basani Basani is the Executive responsible for Retail at Capitec Bank. Prior to joining Capitec in 2021, she was the Group Chief Executive Officer of African Bank. Basani qualified as an attorney at Edward Nathan Sonnenbergs in 2004 and started her career in banking when she joined RMB Corporate Finance in 2005. She subsequently joined FNB as the Head of Private Clients in 2011. She holds BCom and LLB degrees from the University of Cape Town as well as an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. She is a member of the African Leadership Initiative and the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
