Norman Beaulieu is the founder and managing director of Village Corps which was founded in 2009 as his ALI project. Village Corps is a community development platform focused on systematically overcoming poverty within large land holdings of the poor by developing local businesses that address some of the world’s most pressing needs for renewable energy, food production and ecological security.  Formerly, Norman was the founder and managing director of Aedi Group, a family of companies delivering solutions in sustainable building, development and renewable energy through which he created the first LEED certified multi-unit housing in the U.S. He remains actively involved with his alma mater, Wesleyan University, and various other volunteer initiatives. Norman’s life joy is being with his wife, daughter and son with whom he has recently relocated to live in Cape Town. He is a Fellow of the fourth class of the Africa Leadership Initiative-South Africa and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
