Ismail Dockrat is currently the CEO of Denel Maritime. He has held previous CE positions at Denel Aero structures, Denel Aviation and WESGRO. He began his career at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and has also worked at ARMSCOR and the dti, and run his own business. In 2005, Ismail became the youngest person at the time to be awarded the title of South Africa’s Boss of the Year. Ismail holds a national diploma in electronics engineering and completed his MBA at the University of Cape Town, with a period spent thereafter at Cambridge University under the Sainsbury Management Fellowship. He is a Fellow of the third class of the Africa Leadership Initiative-South Africa and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
