Hilary Perkins is a bluegrass and country singer. After 25 years of political organizing and non-profit administration and fundraising, she found her calling, with the help of the Seriti Class, as a full-time performer, songwriter and recording artist. She performs in her grandmother’s name (Nell Robinson). She has appeared on Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion, at the Strawberry Music Festival, Kennedy Center, Kate Wolf Folk Festival among other roots music venues. She has released three albums and will release her fourth in late 2013, The Rose of No Man’s Land, with music, letters, stories and poetry from the American Revolution to the present. She lives in Berkeley, CA. She is a Fellow of the third class of the Africa Leadership Initiative-South Africa and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
