Roger Dickinson is an independent Social Entrepreneur, social change facilitator and transformative scenario planner. Roger’s work primarily focusses on social change initiatives around transforming primary education; regional economic integration and food security in Southern Africa and beyond.
Roger founded and directs the Spell It literacy initiative which aims to improve intermediate phase reading skill levels in public primary schools. The programme has already impacted over 400,000 Learners and is set to expand to 8 other African countries from 2016.
He has also run multiple year organisational development and strategic processes with the groups such as the Hungry Cities Partnership, Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Salzburg Global Seminar, Austria, South African Insurance Association; ABSA, Vodacom, UNISA , the Institute for Security Studies, Etana Insurance, the Starfish Foundation, COSATU, the UNHCR, Social Housing Regulatory Authority, AFSUN, NAPDI and faith based organisations across Southern Africa. He is a Fellow of the second class of the Africa Leadership Initiative-South Africa and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network
