
Batandwa Damoyi is a Chartered Accountant (CA) SA, having served articles at Deloitte. She has more than 17 years of post-article experience in financial management and corporate governance. She completed the Strategic Leadership Programme in 2014 at the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS).
Ms Damoyi has served on several company boards in both the public and private sectors, contributing expertise in financial governance, risk management, and corporate strategy. Notably, she served as CFO and Executive Director between 2012 and 2019 at African Exploration Mining and Finance Corporation (SOC) Ltd., and BAIC Automotive SA (Pty) Ltd, respectively. In 2019,she then founded Libana Consulting. She has also served as a board member and later as Chairperson of Coega Development Corporation for 5 years from 2019.
Ms Damoyi is currently the Chief Financial Officer of the Public Investment Corporation, the largest asset manager in Africa, wholly owned by the South African government, a position she has held since April 2024. She plays a central role in stewarding the financial operations of one of Africa’s largest asset managers — a key institution in managing public sector investment funds with high standards for governance and compliance.
