With over two decades of experience as a communicator, Mahlatse Mahlase is a seasoned content manager specialising in broadcast, online, and social media platforms. Currently, she manages the Content Hub at the South African Reserve Bank (SARB). She is also responsible for the bank’s communication strategy and implementation. She oversees key strategic projects directly under her unit. Previously Mahlatse led news teams at 702’s Eyewitness News as Editor-in-Chief; at News24 as the Political Editor; and at SABC News as the Deputy Political Editor.
As a passionate advocate for free expression, she served two terms as the Chairperson and later as the Secretary-General of the South African National Editors’ Forum (SANEF). Notable achievements include awards, recognition by the Mail & Guardian as one of the top 200 influential young South Africans, and speaking at local and international conferences.
Mahlatse holds a National Diploma in Journalism from Peninsula Technikon (now Cape University of Technology) and a BTech in Journalism from the Tshwane University of Technology.
