Glenn van Loggerenberg, holds a Bachelor of Journalism, from Rhodes University. Glenn is a South African convergence producer at the meeting point of entertainment and technology, a DJ and entrepreneur, based in Johannesburg. He has founded several companies, including Don’t Look Down (1997), a convergence agency specialising in continent-wide prime time production across all media; Wildearth Media (2006), a cross-media live wildlife and telepresence pioneer; House Afrika Entertainment (2009), a record label currently in a joint venture with Sony Entertainment Africa; Africa Rising (2011), a joint-venture with Black Coffee’s Soulistic Music; V3 Strategic (2014), a commercialisation partner for sporting and entertainment properties; and his social experiment, Rabbit In the Moon (2010), an ever evolving bistro / bar in Illovo, Johannesburg.
Glenn occupies a unique self-created vantage point at the intersection of media, technology and entertainment and has been nominated for multiple South African Film And Television Awards, won a South African Music Award (with Black Coffee) and received the Financial Mail New Broom for Outstanding New Talent Award. As a seasoned pan-African broadcast and digital entertainment producer, he has spoken on behalf of the National Association of Broadcasters (SA), presented his unique perspective at strategy sessions and for large media and telecoms companies, and been a guest speaker at Social TV salons in Oslo and New York. In addition to performances across Southern Africa, Glenn has appeared in the UK, the US, the Netherlands, Brazil, and Bali as DJ Strat3gy, and he runs a pro bono music studio at the Soweto Kliptown Youth Centre. He is very happily married to Heidi, with whom he raises his two daughters, Grace and Lily.
